Section 20 ILCS 1405/1405-32 - Task force on business interruption insurance policies

The Department of Insurance shall appoint a task force on business interruption insurance policies consisting of no more than 10 members representing the Department of Insurance and the insurance industry. The Task Force shall include a representative from a national trade association, based in the State of Illinois, that represents insurers who provide a significant segment of market share of the commercial insurance provided in the State of Illinois. The Task Force shall study the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses and the need for changes to business interruption insurance policies based on those impacts, including recommendations for legislation.

Task Force members shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for their expenses incurred in performing their duties.

The Department of Insurance shall provide administrative and other support to the Task Force.

The Task Force shall submit the report of its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly by December 31, 2020. The Task Force is dissolved, and this Section is repealed, on December 31, 2021.
