(a) The Chief Court Administrator shall appoint attorneys to serve as grievance counsel for grievance panels and shall appoint one or more investigators. The investigators shall be under the supervision of the State-Wide Bar Counsel and shall serve the State-Wide Grievance Committee, the reviewing subcommittees of the State-Wide Grievance Committee and the grievance panels. Compensation of the grievance counsel and investigator shall be established by, and paid from funds appropriated to, the Judicial Department. (b) Grievance counsel shall have the following powers and duties: (1) To investigate all complaints received by a grievance panel from the State-Wide Bar Counsel or State-Wide Grievance Committee involving alleged misconduct of an attorney subject to the jurisdiction of the Superior Court;(2) To assist a grievance panel in all matters under its jurisdiction; and(3) To assist a reviewing subcommittee of the State-Wide Grievance Committee in conducting hearings when such assistance is determined to be necessary by the State-Wide Grievance Committee.Conn.
