Section 32-1b - Department of Economic and Community Development established(a) There is established a Department of Economic and Community Development. The department head shall be the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, who shall be appointed by the Governor in accordance with the provisions of sections 4-5 to 4-8, inclusive, with the powers and duties prescribed in said sections 4-5 to 4-8, inclusive.(b) Said department shall constitute a successor department to the Department of Economic Development in accordance with the provisions of sections 4-38d, 4-38e and 4-39. (c) Said department shall constitute a successor to CTNext in accordance with the provisions of subsections (a) to (d), inclusive, and subsection (f) of section 4-38d and sections 4-38e and 4-39.(d) Wherever the term "CTNext", other than the term "CTNext Fund", is used in any public or special act of 2024, the term "Department of Economic and Community Development" shall be substituted in lieu thereof.(e) The Legislative Commissioners' Office shall, in codifying the provisions of this section, make such technical, grammatical and punctuation changes as are necessary to carry out the purposes of this section.(P.A. 73-599, S. 2; P.A. 77-614, S. 284, 610; P.A. 95-250 , S. 1 , 42 ; P.A. 96-211 , S. 1 , 5 , 6 ; June 12 Sp.
