(a) The director of the treatment program shall submit a report to the Court Support Services Division whenever a person treated pursuant to section 17a-699 has completed the treatment program. Such report shall recommend whether the person should receive further treatment for alcohol or drug dependency.(b) The Court Support Services Division shall notify the clerk of the court when a person (1) has completed the treatment program, (2) has complied with all the conditions set under section 17a-699, and (3) if alcohol dependent, has abstained from the use of alcohol for two consecutive years, or, if drug dependent, has abstained from the unlawful use of drugs for two consecutive years. Upon receipt of such notification, the clerk shall set a hearing. The Court Support Services Division may advise the court of any recommendation it may make, including a recommendation to modify the sentence or terms of probation or to terminate probation and release the person. After a hearing, the court may modify the sentence or terms of probation or terminate the probation and release the person.Conn. Gen. Stat. § 17a-700
