Section 14-167 - Certain liens and security interests not affected

This chapter does not apply to or affect:

(1) A lien given by statute or rule of law to a supplier of services or materials for the vehicle;
(2) a lien given by statute to the United States, this state or any political subdivision of this state;
(3) a security interest in a vehicle created by a manufacturer or dealer who holds the vehicle for sale, but a buyer in ordinary course of business, as defined in subdivision (9) of subsection (b) of section 42a-1-201, takes free of the security interest, as stated in section 42a-9-320; or
(4) a security interest in a vehicle that is inventory held for sale or lease by a person or leased by that person as lessor and that person is in the business of selling vehicles, as provided in subsection (d) of section 42a-9-311.
