Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to preclude any manufacturing or industrial pre-apprenticeship or internship program, provided that the child is sixteen (16) years of age or older and that said pre-apprenticeship or internship program complies with the career and technical education regulations promulgated by the board of education pursuant to § 16-45-1 et al.
