Section 6:15SSS - Emergency Management Week

The governor shall annually issue a proclamation calling for the proper observance of Emergency Management Week during the week following the second Sunday of May as a period for special attention to preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation to protect lives and property from natural and technological hazards. During said Emergency Management Week, public safety, emergency response and emergency management personnel shall make a reasonable effort to conduct public information programs, training exercises and other activities designed to educate and inform the public regarding the importance of preparedness for emergencies, mitigation, to reduce harmful effects of natural and technological hazards, and appropriate response and recovery actions in the event of emergencies in the home, workplace, neighborhood, community or region.
