Section 551.114 - Slot machine gaming areas(1) A slot machine licensee may make available for play up to 2,000 slot machines within the property of the facilities of the slot machine licensee.(2) The slot machine licensee shall display pari-mutuel races or games within the designated slot machine gaming areas and offer patrons within the designated slot machine gaming areas the ability to engage in pari-mutuel wagering on live, intertrack, and simulcast races conducted or offered to patrons of the licensed facility.(3) The commission shall require the posting of signs warning of the risks and dangers of gambling, showing the odds of winning, and informing patrons of the toll-free telephone number available to provide information and referral services regarding compulsive or problem gambling.(4) Designated slot machine gaming areas must be located at the address specified in the licensed permitholder's slot machine license issued for fiscal year 2020-2021.(5) The permitholder shall provide adequate office space at no cost to the commission and the Department of Law Enforcement for the oversight of slot machine operations. The commission shall adopt rules establishing the criteria for adequate space, configuration, and location and needed electronic and technological requirements for office space required by this subsection. s.1, ch. 2005-362; s.8, ch. 2007-252; s.31, ch. 2021-271; s.57, ch. 2022-7.Amended by 2022 Fla. Laws, ch. 271, s 31, eff. only if the Gaming Compact between the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the State of Florida executed by the Governor and the Seminole Tribe of Florida on 4/23/2021, as amended on 5/17/2021, under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988, is approved or deemed approved and not voided by the U.S. Department of the Interior, and shall take effect on the date that notice of the effective date of the compact is published in the Federal Register (contingency met).
