Section 6-411 - Purposes; intent(a) The purposes of the Program are to: (1) provide funding to assist emergency food providers in purchasing food for needy individuals;(2) encourage needy individuals to become self-sufficient; and(3) distribute information on the State's earned income tax credit established under § 10-704 of the Tax - General Article.(b) When feasible and cost effective, food purchased under the Program shall be produced, grown, and harvested in the State.
