Section 13-308 - Issuance of license; display or notice of license; change of address(a) Subject to subsection (d) of this section, the Board shall issue the appropriate license to an applicant who meets the requirements of this title for that license.(b)(1) Except as otherwise provided in this subsection, each licensee shall display the license conspicuously in the licensee's office so that it may be seen by patients.(2) A licensee who works in a setting outside the licensee's office, other than a hospital or a related institution, as defined in § 19-301 of the Health - General Article, shall present the wallet sized renewal card as evidence of current licensure to a patient at the beginning of the licensee's initial visit to the patient.(3) A hospital or a related institution that provides physical therapy services shall display a notice in the reception room of the physical therapy treatment area stating that evidence of current licensure for each licensee is on file and may be reviewed by a patient on request.(c) Each licensee shall give the Board immediate written notice of any change of address.(d)(1) On receipt of the criminal history record information of an applicant for licensure forwarded to the Board in accordance with § 13-302.1 of this subtitle, in determining whether to grant a license, the Board shall consider: (i) The age at which the crime was committed;(ii) The circumstances surrounding the crime;(iii) The length of time that has passed since the crime;(iv) Subsequent work history;(v) Employment and character references; and(vi) Any other evidence that demonstrates whether the applicant poses a threat to the public health or safety.(2) The Board may not issue a license if the criminal history record information required under § 13-302.1 of this subtitle has not been received.Amended by 2014 Md.
