Section 32-303 - Membership(a) The Governor shall appoint three members to the Liquor Control Board with the advice and consent of the Senate.(b) Each member of the Liquor Control Board shall be:(1) a resident and voter in the county; and(2) an individual of high character, integrity, and recognized business capacity.(c)(1) A member of the Liquor Control Board may not:(i) have a direct or indirect financial interest in the manufacture or sale of alcoholic beverages; or(ii) derive profit or remuneration from the sale of alcoholic beverages other than the salary or wages payable for the discharge of the duties of the office.(2) A person who violates this paragraph is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $2,000 or both.(d) The term of a member is 2 years and begins on July 1.(e) If a vacancy occurs, it shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointment.Added by 2016 Md.
