Section 31-1201 - Local caterer's license(a) There is a local caterer's license.(b)(1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this subsection, the Board may issue the license to the holder of a Class B restaurant or hotel (on-sale and off-sale) beer, wine, and liquor license.(2) Before the Board issues or renews the license, the county health department shall approve the food preparation facilities for a catered event.(c) The license authorizes a holder to: (1) provide beer, wine, and liquor at an event that is held off the premises for which the holder's Class B restaurant or hotel (on-sale and off-sale) beer, wine, and liquor license is issued; and(2) exercise the privileges of the license only during the hours and on the days authorized for the holder's Class B restaurant or hotel (on-sale and off-sale) beer, wine, and liquor license.(d) The license holder shall:(1) prepare, deliver, and provide food for consumption at the catered event;(2) provide the service employees to serve the beer, wine, and liquor at the catered event; and(3) ensure that at least one service employee is certified by an alcohol awareness program under § 4-505 of this article and is on the premises at all times during the catered event.(e) The annual license fee is $1,500.(f) This section does not require a holder of a Class B restaurant or hotel (on-sale and off-sale) beer, wine, and liquor license to obtain a local caterer's license for catering on the premises for which the Class B license is issued.Added by 2016 Md.
