Section 45-35-83.01 - Salary; cost-of-living increases(a)(1) Beginning on the effective date of the act amending this section, the Judge of Probate of Houston County shall receive an annual salary equal to the state salary paid to a district judge, and shall be entitled to any increases in salary in the same amount and same manner as a district judge possessing the same number of cumulative years of service as the probate judge at that time possesses.(2) The salary provided by this section shall be in lieu of any and all other prior compensation or income, not including any expense allowance, provided by law for the judge of probate, and shall be paid in equal periodic installments from the general fund of the county.(b) In order to receive the compensation provided under subsection (a), the judge of probate shall waive any compensation provided under Section 17-3-60, relating to reports from the state voter registration list.Ala.
