Section 31-5A-9 - [Effective 10/1/2024] Annual reports and budget requests
(a) The board shall report annually to the Governor the activities of the department regarding the operation of the state veterans homes.
(b) The annual report shall contain an accounting of all monies received and expended, statistics on veterans who resided in the homes during the year, recommendations to the Governor and the Legislature, and other matters deemed pertinent by the board.
(c) The commissioner, with the approval of the board, shall compile an annual budget request, as necessary, listing needs for state funding for anticipated costs of veterans homes. The budget request shall be submitted to the Department of Finance in conjunction with the department's annual budget requests.
