Section 40258 - [Operative until 7/1/2024] Schedule of toll evasion penalties(a) The schedule of toll evasion penalties for toll evasion violations shall be limited to one hundred dollars ($100) for the first violation, two hundred fifty dollars ($250) for a second violation within one year, and five hundred dollars ($500) for each additional violation within one year.(b) Toll evasion penalties under this article shall be collected as civil penalties.(c) This section shall become inoperative on July 1, 2024, and, as of January 1, 2025, is repealed.Amended by Stats 2022 ch 969 (AB 2594),s 12, eff. 1/1/2023.Added by Stats. 1995, Ch. 739, Sec. 8.
