Section 23110 - Throwing substance at vehicle or occupant prohibited(a) Any person who throws any substance at a vehicle or any occupant thereof on a highway is guilty of a misdemeanor.(b) Any person who with intent to do great bodily injury maliciously and willfully throws or projects any rock, brick, bottle, metal or other missile, or projects any other substance capable of doing serious bodily harm at such vehicle or occupant thereof is guilty of a felony and upon conviction shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison.Amended by Stats 2011 ch 39 (AB 117),s 68, eff. 6/30/2011.Amended by Stats 2011 ch 39 (AB 117),s 65, eff. 6/30/2011.Amended by Stats 2011 ch 15 (AB 109),s 613, eff. 4/4/2011, but operative no earlier than October 1, 2011, and only upon creation of a community corrections grant program to assist in implementing this act and upon an appropriation to fund the grant program.
