Section 125290.74 - Shared Research Laboratory ProgramShared Research Laboratory Program
(a) The institute shall reestablish a Shared Research Laboratory Program to provide funding to academic and nonprofit research institutions in California for specialized instrumentation, a supply of cell lines, culture materials, and instruction and training in research methods and techniques. Awardees of Shared Research Laboratory grants shall be required to offer use of the research laboratory to investigators conducting research at the awardee institution and provide a reasonable access plan for neighboring research institutions, and to offer instruction and training opportunities to students and investigators at the awardee institution and provide a reasonable access plan for neighboring research institutions.(b) The institute shall prioritize the funding of applications that enhance the geographic distribution of Shared Research Laboratories across the state and applications that offer matching funds or verified in-kind support.(c) Shared Research Laboratory Program awards shall be made pursuant to the procedures set forth in Article 1 (commencing with Section 125290.10) of Chapter 3 of Part 5 of Division 106.Ca. Health and Saf. Code § 125290.74
