Section 7921.705 - Petition to allow requested inspection or copying(a) If a district attorney makes a request to a state or local agency to inspect or receive a copy of a public record or class of public records not exempted by this division, and the state or local agency fails or refuses to allow inspection or copying within 10 working days of that request, the district attorney may petition a court of competent jurisdiction to require the state or local agency to allow the requested inspection or copying.(b) Unless the public interest or good cause in withholding the requested records clearly outweighs the public interest in disclosure, the court may require the public agency to allow the district attorney to inspect or copy those records.Added by Stats 2021 ch 614 (AB 473),s 2, eff. 1/1/2022.
