Section 9855.1 - [Effective until 1/1/2028] Unlawful to act as service contractor without registration(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to act as a service contractor in this state unless that person first registers with the bureau in accordance with the provisions of this chapter and maintains a valid registration.(b) Except as expressly provided in this chapter, service contractors registered in accordance with the provisions of this chapter shall be exempt from all provisions of the Insurance Code.Ca.
