Section 5-11-105 - Vehicular piracy(a) A person commits vehicular piracy if, without lawful authority, the person seizes or exercises control, by force or threat of violence, over any: (1) Aircraft occupied by an unconsenting person; or(2) Other vehicle: (A) Having a seating capacity of more than eight (8) passengers;(B) Operated by a common carrier or contract carrier of passengers for hire; and(C) Occupied by an unconsenting person.(b)(1) Vehicular piracy of an aircraft is a Class B felony.(2) Otherwise, vehicular piracy is a Class C felony.Acts 1975, No. 280, § 1705; A.S.A. 1947, § 41-1705.
