Section 27-19-616 - Termination of security requirements
(a) The Office of Driver Services, if satisfied as to the existence of any fact which under §§ 27-19-612 - 27-19-615 would entitle a person to be relieved from the security requirements of this subchapter, shall not require the deposit of security by the person so relieved from the requirements and shall terminate any prior order of suspension in regard to the person, or, if security has previously been deposited by the person, the Office of Driver Services shall immediately return the deposit to him or her or to his or her personal representative.
(b) If any person under suspension has received a settlement from the adverse party or his or her liability insurance carrier reimbursing him or her for his or her property damages and personal injuries, then the Office of Driver Services shall not suspend his or her license and registration, and if his or her license and registration have been suspended, they shall be reinstated, and, if any such person has deposited security with the Office of Driver Services and a settlement is subsequently made, he or she shall be entitled to the return of his or her security deposit upon proof satisfactory to the Office of Driver Services of the settlement.
