Section 27-14-2206 - Report of vehicle left in storage or parked over thirty days
(a)
(1) Whenever any vehicle of a type subject to registration in this state has been stored, parked, or left in a garage, trailer park, or any type of storage or parking lot for a period of over thirty (30) days, the owner of the garage, trailer park, or lot shall, within five (5) days after the expiration of that period, report the make, model, or serial or vehicle identification number of the vehicle as unclaimed to the Automobile Theft Section of the Division of Arkansas State Police.
(2) The report shall be on a form prescribed and furnished by the division.
(b) Nothing in this section shall apply when arrangements have been made for continuous storage or parking by the owner of the motor vehicle so parked or stored or when the owner of the motor vehicle so parked or stored is personally known to the owner or operator of the garage, trailer park, storage, or parking lot.
(c)
(1) Any person who fails to submit the report required under this section shall forfeit all claims for storage of the vehicle and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
(2) Each day's failure to make a report required under this section shall constitute a separate offense.
