Section 17-82-110 - Administration of fluoride varnish by physicians and nurses
(a) Following a risk assessment of the child's oral health approved by the Department of Health, a physician may apply fluoride varnish to a child's teeth after the physician has completed training on dental caries risk assessment and fluoride varnish application approved by the department.
(b) Under physician supervision approved by the department, fluoride varnish application may be delegated to a nurse or other licensed healthcare professional who has completed training on dental caries risk assessment and fluoride varnish application approved by the department.
