Section 16-12-108 - Staff(a) The Clerk of the Supreme Court shall serve as Clerk of the Court of Appeals.(b) The Reporter of the Supreme Court shall serve as Reporter of the Court of Appeals.(c) The sheriff of the county wherein the Court of Appeals is sitting shall be the bailiff of that court.(d) Each judge of the Court of Appeals shall have an administrative assistant and two (2) law clerks to be selected by the judge personally.(e) The Clerk of the Supreme Court is authorized to select two (2) additional persons as deputies. He or she may assign deputies to primarily handle all matters relative to the Court of Appeals, including, but not limited to, filing cases which have been appealed to the Court of Appeals, assigning briefs and motions to the judges, submitting cases, keeping all court records, notifying counsel of oral argument, preparing the payroll, and any and all other duties connected with the Court of Appeals.(f)(1) Law clerks for the Supreme Court and law clerks for the Court of Appeals shall be of the same grade, unless the General Assembly approves a pay grade change to either court's law clerks.(2) The Supreme Court or the Court of Appeals shall give timely written notice to the other court before requesting a change to a pay grade for its respective law clerks to the General Assembly.Amended by Act 2021, No. 129,§ 2, eff. 7/28/2021.Amended by Act 2021, No. 129,§ 1, eff. 7/28/2021.Acts 1979, No. 208, § 8; A.S.A. 1947, § 22-1208.
