Section 35-120 - Additional powers of governorA. In aid of any powers vested in the governor under this article, the governor: 1. Shall have access to offices of all budget units.2. May examine all books, papers, records and documents in the office of any budget unit.3. May require any state officer or head of any budget unit to furnish such data, information or statements as may be necessary.B. The provisions of this section shall apply to the board of regents and the institutions under the jurisdiction of the board of regents, only as they relate to the appropriations requested.C. The power of the governor as prescribed by the terms of this section, to investigate budget units, including the board of regents, may be delegated to the office of strategic planning and budgeting or the department of administration. Such power may be used and shall extend to funds appropriated by the legislature in its relation to budget preparation for the current and preceding fiscal year. The powers granted by the terms of this section may be exercised by the governor during any period of the fiscal year.
