Section 31-342 - Escape; liability for costs incurred in apprehensionA. Any person who is convicted of escape from custody or a correctional facility pursuant to section 13-2502, 13-2503 or 13-2504 is liable for any costs incurred in the person's apprehension, including costs incurred for food, lodging and travel during transportation of the person to the correctional facility in which the person was held or detained before the escape or, if the escape was from custody, to the correctional facility in which the person would have been held or detained.B. At the time of sentencing for the offense of escape, the court shall determine the costs incurred in apprehending the defendant and may order that the costs be paid by the defendant. A judgment that the defendant pay the costs incurred in the defendant's apprehension may be satisfied from the prisoner's trust fund or retention account established by the correctional facility in which the defendant is incarcerated.
