Section 28-2008 - Duplicate certificate of title, permit, registration card or license platesA. If a permit, registration card or license plate is lost or mutilated or becomes illegible, the person entitled to the permit, card or plate shall immediately apply for and obtain a duplicate or substitute permit, card or plate by furnishing information satisfactory to the department.B. If a paper certificate of title is lost or mutilated or becomes illegible, the person entitled to the certificate of title may apply for a duplicate or substitute certificate of title by furnishing information satisfactory to the department.
