Section 11-301 - Discharge of patient capable of self-support; violation; classificationA. A person admitted to the hospital shall be permitted to remain there so long as he is sick or has a disability or unable to earn a livelihood, and no longer. The contractor or superintendent shall discharge from the hospital every person as soon as he is restored to health and strength sufficient to support himself.B. A contractor or person having charge of the hospital who knowingly permits a person to remain in the hospital at the expense of the county after he is restored to health and strength is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor.Amended by L. 2014, ch. 215,s. 15, eff. 7/24/2014.
