Section 14.07.050 - [Effective Until 6/30/2034] Selection of textbooks Textbooks for use in the public schools of the state, including a district-offered statewide correspondence study program, shall be selected by district boards for district schools. Nothing in this section precludes
(1) a correspondence study student, or the parent or guardian of a correspondence study student, from privately obtaining or using textbooks or curriculum material not provided by the school district;(2) the department from selecting and purchasing supplementary reading textbooks and materials for school districts to support reading intervention services provided under AS 14.30.765 and 14.30.770.Amended by SLA 2022, ch. 40,sec. 19, eff. 7/1/2023.This section is set out more than once due to postponed, multiple, or conflicting amendments.
