Rule 29 - Amicus Curiae Brief(a) When Permitted. The State of Vermont or an officer or agency thereof may file an amicus curiae brief without the consent of the parties, and without leave of the Court. Any other amicus curiae may file a brief only at the Court's request, by leave of Court on motion, or with written consent of all parties.(b) Motion for Leave to File. The motion may accompany the proposed brief and must state the movant's interest and why an amicus curiae brief is desirable. (c) Time for Filing and Format. An amicus curiae must file its brief within the time allowed to the party whose position it supports, unless all parties consent to a different time or the Court, for cause, grants leave for later filing, specifying the time in which an opposing party may answer. An amicus curiae brief must follow the form and filing requirements of Rule 32, and must be served on the other parties consistent with Rule 31(b).
