Rule 11-605 - MCLE requirements for lawyers and licensed paralegal practitioners on inactive status
(a) Lawyers and licensed paralegal practitioners on inactive status are not subject to MCLE requirements while on inactive status.
(b) A lawyer who is on inactive status for 12 months or more and who returns to active status must complete the 12 hour Accredited CLE requirement by June 30 of the Compliance Cycle that begins after the lawyer's return to active status. A paralegal practitioner who is on inactive status for 12 months or more and who returns to active status must complete the six-hour Accredited CLE requirement by June 30 of the Compliance Cycle that begins after the licensed paralegal practitioner's return to active status.
(c) A lawyer who has been on inactive status for less than 12 months may not elect active status until completing the Accredited CLE requirements that were incomplete at the time the lawyer elected to be enrolled as an inactive member. A licensed paralegal practitioner who has been on inactive status for less than 12 months may not elect active status until completing the Accredited CLE requirements that were incomplete at the time the licensed paralegal practitioner elected to be enrolled as an inactive licensed paralegal practitioner.
