Rule 73 - Appeal to the Superior Court.

A party may appeal to the Superior Court by filing a notice of appeal within two (2) days after the judgment is entered or, if the judgment relates to a residential landlord/tenant matter, within five (5) days after the judgment is entered with the clerk of the division of the District Court and by simultaneously paying the appropriate appeal fee plus any applicable technology surcharges, in accordance with the applicable statutory law, together with the costs and bond, if any, required by statutory law. The most current version of the appeal form is located on the Judiciary's website at www.courts.ri.gov under the heading of Public Resources, Forms. The party claiming the appeal shall send a copy of the notice of appeal to the opposing party or parties, or if represented by an attorney, to their attorney of record, within five (5) days after the filing of the notice of appeal. If an appeal be so claimed the case and papers shall be certified and transmitted to the Superior Court in accordance with statutory law.
