Rule 8.011 - PARENT EDUCATION CLASS(1) In any domestic relations action involving the custody or parenting time of minor children, including enforcement or modification proceedings and proceedings involving parties who are non-parents, all parties shall attend a parent education class provided by the court prior to a judicial determination of the issues. For purposes of this rule, domestic relations actions include dissolution of marriage, separation, annulment, filiation and dissolution of domestic partnership.(2) The parent education class provides information to help parents in recognizing how children are put in the middle during the process of separation or divorce and is designed to assist parents in meeting children's needs during this period. If mediation is court ordered through Baker County Circuit Court there is no fee.(3) Parties may attend a similar parent education class in another Oregon county or another state and file a Certificate of Attendance with the court.Amended effective 2/1/2024.
