Rule 24 - Pretrial conferences(a) The trial judge may require a pretrial conference upon the judge's own motion or upon motion made by either party prior to trial.(b) Pretrial conferences may include settlement negotiations. A settlement conference shallbe set before a judge otherthan the trial judge. If the parties agree, a settlement conference in a matter set for jury trial may be heard by the presiding judge.(c) The judge may, for good cause, continue the pretrial conference for a limited period of time to a time certain.(d) Both parties are required to participate in good faith in any settlement conference and to send an authorized representative to the conference who has authority to negotiate and settle the case.
