Members of the committee may act as a monitor on contracts that provide for a program of recovery for a lawyer who has an addiction. Said contract may be entered into by the lawyer at the behest of the office of chief disciplinary counsel, the board of law examiners, the commission, or at the initiation of the lawyer.
