After giving notice to the State and the defendant, the court may correct a clerical error in a judgment or order, correct an error in the record arising from oversight or omission, or correct a sentence that resulted from arithmetical, technical, or other clear error.
Miss. R. Crim. P. 25.4
Comment
Rule 25.4 is similar to Mississippi Rule of Civil Procedure 60(a). It provides an efficient method for correcting clerical and technical errors appearing in judgments, orders, or other parts of the record. See Shinn v. State, 74 So. 3d 901 (Miss. Ct. App. 2011) (recognizing authority for correction of scrivener's or clerical error at any time). A motion to correct simple clerical mistakes may be made at any time.
