Haw. Dis. Ct. R. Civ. P. 18

As amended through June 28, 2024
Rule 18 - Joinder of Claims
(a) Joinder of claims. A party asserting a claim for relief as an original claim, counterclaim, cross-claim, or third-party claim may join, either as independent or as alternate claims as many claims as the party may have against an opposing party, provided that the aggregate of such other claims must be within the jurisdictional limitations of the District Court.

COMMENTS:

Adopts HRCP Rule 18(a) with the addition of the last phrase to take into account the jurisdictional limitations on amount and subject matter of the District Court.

(b) Reserved.

Haw. Dis. Ct. R. Civ. P. 18

Amended effective 12/6/1996.

COMMENTS:

Not changed.

HRCP Rule 18(b) was not adopted here because it appears to deal mainly with fraudulent conveyances, a matter outside the jurisdiction of the District Court.
