Rule 4 - Protective Orders Governed by these Rules(a) Order of Protection. An Order of Protection, governed by A.R.S. § 13-3602, may be granted to prevent a person from engaging in acts of domestic violence. It is limited to parties with relationships specified in A.R.S. § 13-3601(A), the domestic violence statute.(b) Emergency Order of Protection. An Emergency Order of Protection, governed by A.R.S. § 13-3624, may be requested by a peace officer on an emergency or ex parte basis when a person's life or health is in imminent danger. It is limited to parties with relationships specified in A.R.S. § 13-3601(A), the domestic violence statute.(c) Injunction Against Harassment. An Injunction Against Harassment, governed by A.R.S. § 12-1809, may be granted to prevent a person from committing acts of harassment against another. There is no relationship requirement.(d) Injunction Against Workplace Harassment. An Injunction Against Workplace Harassment, governed by A.R.S. § 12-1810, authorizes an employer to seek a court order preventing a person from being on the employer's premises and from committing acts of harassment against the employer, the workplace, employees, or any other person who is on the employer's property or at the place of business or who is performing official work duties.(e) Order for Lifetime No-Contact Injunction Under A.R.S. § 13-719(D). An Order for Lifetime No-Contact Injunction prohibits any contact by the defendant in a criminal case against the victim in that case and may be issued under A.R.S. § 13-719(D) if the defendant was convicted of and sentenced for an offense in A.R.S. § 13-719(A)Formerly Rule 1 in part, added Sept. 5, 2007, effective 1/1/2008.
