Rule 203 - Content of a Delinquency Petition(a) Content. A delinquency petition must be captioned: "In the Matter of___, a person under the age of 18 years." The petition must be under oath and include the following information: (1) the name, age, gender, and address of the juvenile named in the referral;(2) the names and addresses, if known, of the juvenile's parents or the juvenile's spouse, if any;(3) if the juvenile is in custody, the place of detention and the date and time the juvenile was taken into custody; and(4) a concise statement of facts, including with reasonable particularity the date, time, place, and manner of the alleged acts that bring the juvenile within the court's jurisdiction, and the law allegedly violated by such acts that bring the juvenile within the jurisdiction of the court.(b) Amendments to a Petition . Before adjudication, a prosecutor may file a motion requesting a court order that permits amendments to a petition. If the court grants the motion, it must allow the parties sufficient time to respond to the new allegations.Adopted Dec. 8, 2021, effective 7/1/2022.
