Rule 45 - Commercial Mail CarriersA. When the law requires or allows the circuit clerk to send any document by United States mail, including firstclass, certified, or other type of delivery options, the circuit clerk is permitted to send the document by a thirdparty commercial carrier, provided that the carrier has been previously approved by the Administrative Director of Courts. B. The Administrative Director of Courts may permit the electronic-filing system to provide users with the services of previously approved third-party commercial carriers in addition to those offered by the United States Postal Service.Adopted 2-26-2020, eff. 2/26/2020.Comment
Rule 45 allows the circuit clerks to send documents using the services of third-party commercial carriers that have been approved by the Administrative Director of Courts. The Administrative Office of Courts will maintain and publish a list of approved third-party commercial carriers, which will be updated periodically as third-party commercial carriers are approved or their approval withdrawn by the Administrative Director of Courts.
