Section 8-6 - Ties

a. Ties must be shown on the map from a corner of the public land survey to the following points:

  • (1) The head gate (point of diversion) of the facility.
  • (2) The point of starting of an extension or enlargement.
  • (3) The outlet of a reservoir, which is defined as the point where the center line of the top of the dam intersects the center line of the outlet conduit,
  • (4) If a reservoir has no outlet, to the center of the stream bed where it intersects the dam.

b. All distances must be shown in feet. Maps must be plotted to the true meridian, and bearings shown must be true bearings, reading less than 90° to the east or west from the north and south points.

c. At all points where a ditch or other conveyance facility, or the high-water line of a reservoir intersects section lines, the distance along the section line to the nearest corner of the public land survey must be shown. (See Chapter VII, Section 5, page 53, if necessary to deviate from this requirement.)
