Section DWD 290.02 - Apprentices(1) Apprentices may work at less than the prevailing wage rate for the work they perform when they are employed pursuant to and individually registered in a bona fide apprenticeship program administered by the U.S. department of labor, a state agency recognized by the U.S. department of labor, or under Wisconsin's apprenticeship law, ch. 106, Stats.(2) Any employee who is not properly registered as an apprentice under sub. (1) shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage rate applicable to the work actually performed. (3) Apprentices shall be paid a percentage of the applicable journeyperson's hourly basic rate of pay and hourly fringe benefit contributions specified in the prevailing wage rate determination issued for a project.(4) The appropriate percentage shall be obtained from each apprentice's contract or indenture.Wis.
