Section NR 254.11 - Applicability; description of the alkaline cleaning subcategory

This subchapter applies to the discharge of pollutants to waters of the state and the introduction of pollutants into POTWs from operations in which steel and steel products are immersed in alkaline cleaning baths to remove mineral and animal fats or oils from the steel. The alkaline cleaning subcategory includes rinsing operations which follow such immersions.
