Section NR 661.1055 - Standards: sampling connection systems(1) Each sampling connection system shall be equipped with a closed-purge, closed-loop, or closed-vent system. This system shall collect the sample purge for return to the process or for routing to the appropriate treatment system. Gases displaced during filling of the sample container are not required to be collected or captured.(2) Each closed-purge, closed-loop, or closed-vent system as required in sub. (1) shall meet one of the following requirements: (a) Return the purged process fluid directly to the process line.(b) Collect and recycle the purged process fluid.(c) Be designed and operated to capture and transport all the purged process fluid to a material management unit that complies with the applicable requirements specified in ss. NR 661.1084 to 664.1086 or a control device that complies with the requirements specified in s. NR 661.1060.(3) In-situ sampling systems and sampling systems without purges are exempt from the requirements under subs. (1) and (2).Wis. Admin. Code Department of Natural Resources NR 661.1055
