Section DHS 99.03 - DefinitionsIn this chapter:
(1) "Licensed psychologist" means a psychologist licensed under ch. 455, Stats.(2) "Mental disorder" means a congenital or acquired condition affecting the emotional or volitional capacity that predisposes a person to engage in acts of sexual violence.(3) "Psychiatrist" means a physician licensed under ch. 448, Stats., to practice medicine and surgery who has completed 3 years of residency training in psychiatry in a program approved by the accreditation council for graduate medical education and is either certified or eligible for certification by the American board of psychiatry and neurology.(4) "Sexually violent offense" has the meaning prescribed in s. 980.01(6), Stats.(5) "Sexually violent person" means a person who has been convicted of a sexually violent offense, has been adjudicated delinquent for a sexually violent offense, or has been found not guilty of or not responsible for a sexually violent offense by reason of insanity or mental disease, defect or illness, and who is dangerous because he or she suffers from a mental disorder that makes it substantially probable that the person will engage in acts of sexual violence.Wis.
