Section 19-1-3 - Purposes of Nursing Education Approval3.1. The purposes of approval include: 3.1.a. To promote the safe practice of nursing by implementing educational standards for prelicensure nursing programs educating individuals who desire to seek licensure as a registered professional nurse;3.1.b. To grant legal recognition to nursing education programs that meet the requirements of the Board;3.1.c. To provide criteria for the development, evaluation and improvement of new nursing education programs; and3.1.d. To ensure ongoing evaluation and improvement of nursing education programs.
