Section 141-75-5 - Functions

The Inspector General performs the following functions for The Adjutant General:

a. Conducts inspections, investigations, surveys and studies.
b. Visits units of the WVARNG as frequently as practicable.
c. Receives and processes complaints, grievances and requests for assistance from both military and civilian members associated with the WVARNG.
d. Gathers and evaluates information upon which to base appropriate recommendations.
e. Formulates and disseminates policies to commanders concerning his own responsibilities with approval of The Adjutant General.

f. Consults with the Senior Amy Advisor on a continuing basis to stimulate a mutual exchange of information and ideas.
g. Maintains personal relationship with all commanders to share pertinent information that can be of assistance to The Adjutant General and commanders concerned.
