Section 141-58-9 - Definitions
a. Whenever used in this regulation the letters "NRA" shall refer to the National Rifle Association, and the term "NRA Rules" shall refer to the Official Rules and Regulations to Govern the Conduct of all highpower Rifle Competition, adopted by the National Rifle Association, the Official Rules and Regulations to Govern the Conduct of all Smallbore Rifle Competition, and the Official Rules and Regulations to Govern the Conduct of Pistol and Revolver Competition, adopted by the National Rifle Association.
b. "New Shooter" means a shooter who has not previously fired as a member of a team in the particular match.
c. "Battalion Size Unit". Any federally recognized Army Guard battalion or squadron. For purpose of marksmanship training, and to encourage competition within organizations, certain STARC units will be considered a battalion. These units are: HD, USPFO, ATS, and 229th Engr Det. There will be no composite battalions. All must be pure TOE organizations. An Air National Guard base or group not to exceed 1,000 personnel will be considered a battalion size unit.
d. "Organization". Same as Battalion Size Unit.
e. "Unit". Any company or smaller sized Army Guard unit or Air Guard squadron.
f. "SARTS". Small Arms Readiness Training Section.
g. "UMSC". Unit Marksmanship Support Center, located in Nashville, TN.
h. "NGMTU". National Guard Marksmanship Training Unit, located in Nashville.
