Many military school courses are conducted to provide the knowledge or skills required for a specific assignment. Additionally, some of the Army service schools officer orientation and familiarization courses for junior officers who are graduates of a basic branch course and have undergone a branch transfer due to reorganization or change of unit assignments due to change of residence from one geographic location to another.
