Section 126-13A-8 - Implementation8.1. This policy will be effective July 1,_1983. Pursuant to 18-9A-22, the West Virginia Board of Education hereby adopts educational standards in the following areas:" curriculum, educational personnel development, facilities and equipment, finance, food services, instruction, organization and" administration, personnel management, planning and evaluation, school and_community relations, students, and transportation, Standards for special education and textbooks which are specified in §18-9A-22 are included in one (1) or more of these areas. Although these high quality standards address ail operations of the public schools, specific regulations of the state board of education will be considered on an independent basis. Changes in such regulations subsequently will be reflected in the standards and the assessment thereof.8.2. Policy §2320,Standards for Educational Quality, adopted by the West Virginia Board of Education, provides that the standards are measured by indicators of attainment approved by the state board, The twelve (12) standards and components (1.1, 1,2, 2.1, etc.) are provided along with the respective indicators of attainment (1.1a, 1.2a, 2.1a, etc.). '" Indicators of attainment are based on law or the policies of the West Virginia Board of Education. As law or policies change, the indicators will be updated to reflect such changes.
